Omni Increases Production Capacity by 70% in 2010

In January 2010 Omni began phase 1 of 2 of their expansion project. Once completed, their production capability will have increased in size and volume by 70%. Phase 1 involved installing an additional Polypack bundler, (2) Universal CP 2000 Labelers and Pace M600 Stand up along with a orientor unit. An additional 450 feet of linear line footage was added to the bottle conveyor as part of the 2 Cycle expansion. The expansion has enabled Omni Speacialty Packaging to double their production speed. In May of 2010 phase 2 will by completed by installing a Motoman palletizing robot.

Bulk Storage and Blending Capacity

In the 2nd Quarter of 2010, Omni will complete the installation of 8 new tanks, growing its bulk storage and blending capacity by 360,000 gallons! This project will include 3 – 70,000 gallon tanks and 5 – 30,000 gallon tanks. This project, designed by Omni’s De Siau, requires the professional expertise of contractors in the areas of Steel Erection, Electrical, Concrete, Tank Construction, Piping, Pumps, Heating Coils, Mixers and Load Cells (for sensitive blends). De would like to thank Feazel Electrical, Lide Industries (Tanks), DXP (Pumps), A&L Concrete, Reynolds Construction, Joyce Steel Erection, John H. Carter Company (Gauges), Fairbanks Scales (Load Cells) and Rick Pierce Resources. This is not the first Omni project for many of these contractors. Omni appreciates their continue hard work and dedication to Omni QUALITY.

Omni opened newly Expanded Laboratory

The footprint of Omni's Lab is now 2.5 times larger than it was earlier this year. Omni's lab was moved to its current location of the plant in 2005, during a phase of overall plant expansion. The location was chosen partly because of available adjacent space on the original blue prints allowing room for growth. The new lab includes: specialized lab equipment space, larger testing areas, additional testing equipment and computer workstations. The safety equipment in the lab has also been updated to the highest industry standards. Our thinks go to Omni's David Spivey for his dedicataion to detail and timely completion in the role of Project Manager.
